Earlier this week, the British Academy announced their full list of nominations for the BAFTA Television Awards, where Sherwood landed three nominations.
The hit BBC show, written by James Graham, is nominated in for Best Drama Series alongside nominations for Adele Akhtar and Lesley Manville in the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories.
Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said the organization received a record number of entries, which resulted in a total of 128 nominations.
BAFTA unveiled the nominations for its TV Awards ahead of the ceremony taking place at the Royal Festival Hall on May 14. Comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett will host the event.
The nominations come in a week when the BBC One series won the Best Drama Series prize at this year’s Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.
